The Ice Bats were a minor league hockey organization based out of Austin, TX. They participated in the Central Hockey League from 1996 through 2008 and were affiliates of the Minnesota Wild NHL team. The team got the name Ice Bats from the Mexican bats that nest under Ann W. Richards Bridge in Austin.
